  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. A resident wanted to know how to transfer property. The selectmen directed the resident toward the Kennebec County Registry of Deeds.
  4. Fire Chief, Brian Church, discussed the use of the community room and the possibility of opening it again to public use. Discussion was held on charging a cleaning fee until Covid has been taken care of. The Selectmen agreed to continue to keep the building closed to public use until further notice.
  5. The selectmen discussed the cutting of the town property known as the “Old Dump” property. This process would need to be put out to bid. The selectmen are considering this as a way to make money for the town.
  6. The town is looking into a new code enforcement officer. Matthew Drost is considering an offer to work for the town.
  7. A resident requested an abatement for his parents' taxes from 2019. The bank sent paperwork stating the 2019 taxes are unpaid and will have a lien placed on the property. The resident is concerned the bank will foreclose on the property.

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant #14 ($77,304.34).
  4. The selectmen will meet with Matthew Drost on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 5:30p.m. for an interview for the Code Enforcement Officer position.
  5. The Treasurer has resigned and will end her service at the end of August 2020.
  6. The selectboard discussed the previous complaints of a resident of people speeding on Route 41, in front of his house. The selectboard agreed to not get a speed radar sign due to lack of storage space and personnel to a) keep it maintained b) collect data and c) to keep it operational/charged. The selectboard has directed the resident via email and in person to contact the Sherriffs’ Department and the State Police.
  7. The selectboard has been asked to sign paperwork to acknowledge the need for faster internet in the town. The selectboard is in full agreement and furthermore agrees to support efforts to bring better service to our community. The town has been working with other local towns to bring better service to the area.

The Selectboard interviewed Matthew Drost for the Code Enforcement Officer position.

The selectboard discussed the candidate and will offer him the position.

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. The selectboard interviewed Kirsten Heck for the treasurer position.
  4. The selectmen and Kirsten discussed adding a Food Sovereignty Ordinance. This would help protect the local farmers who want to sell products in front of their homes and/or businesses.
  5. The selectboard gathered property card information to send to the town appraiser.
  6. The selectboard approved the agreement with Matthew Drost,the new code enforcement officer.
  7. The selectmen abated taxes on a property.

  1. Reviewed and dispersed the mail.
  2. The selectmen read and accepted the minutes from the previous meeting.
  3. Reviewed and signed Warrant #15 ($103,175.70).
  4. The selectboard discussed the new C.E.O. He has been familiarizing himself with the roads and homes of the town.
  5. The selectboard further discussed the need for a new treasurer and the need to hire a deputy treasurer at a later date.The current treasurer will be done at the end of the month.
  6. The selectboard will contact the town assessor. The town has several new buildings/homes that need to be assessed.
  7. Ed Lawless talked with the selectboard about Broadband and dropped off informational pamphlets. These pamphlets will be distributed around the local towns. If you want one, please let a select person know or go to the website; wklcba.org.
