  • Opened and distributed mail.
  • Read and accepted minutes from previous meeting.
  • Reviewed and signed Warrant #11.
  • Discussed the ongoing beaver issue at the Parker pond culvert. There is a possibility the 30 Mile Watershed organization will help work on this. Mr. Hill discussed a possible solution using PVC Pipe and wire.
  • Dan Goucher, Road Commissioner, gave a report on roads:
    • Kimball Pond Road has been graded;
    • Jesse Ladd Road has been graded and rolled;
    • Tower Road has been shimmed;
    • Davis Road hill has been repaired after a wash out;
    • Mountain Road still to be graded.
  • Brian Church, fire chief, requested a key for the town office for the fire department. The fire department would need to make entree in case of an emergency. The selectmen will have one made and given to the chief.

  • Read and accepted minutes from previous meeting.
  • Reviewed and signed Warrant #12.
  • Discussed the cemetery mowing and reviewed Luke Olson’s suggestions for upkeep on the town’s properties for next season – more thorough spring cleanup and an increase in the mowing schedule during the beginning of the season.
  • The Vienna Post Office will be changing its hours and services as of June 24th. New hours for the service desk will be 8am-10am and 2 pm-4 pm. The lobby will be open 24 hours around the clock for access to mail boxes and slot.
  • Followed up on the Parker pond beaver issue.
  • Discussed the town’s policy of all contractors doing work for the town needing to provide proof of insurance before work begins.
  • The town’s assessment is still within the 100% range according to Maine Revenue Services.
  • Dodi will be attending a budget work shop given by Maine Municipal Association the 20th of June.

  • Dick Scott from Kyes Insurance delivered the new Town Insurance Polices for July 2013 through June 2014:

There is a premium increase of 3½% over last year; as well as a value increase of 2½% on coverage of town buildings and contents.

  • Discussed the MMA budget work shop that Dodi attended. She will receive budget templates to look over for use in 2014.
  • Discussed the beaver issue at Parker Pond. Dan needed to get a 40 foot log to clean the culvert.

  • Discussed cell phone tower issue – no application has been submitted to the town at this point.
  • Discussed tax commitment and the breakdown of “other income”.
  • Discussed State Revenue Sharing: Vienna will receive $22,218.00 (instead of $47,035.00, as anticipated) for the fiscal year July 2013-June 2014.
  • Reviewed a proposal from Jim’s Painting Service. Jim will scrape, prime and paint a portion of the Town House. This proposal has been accepted by the Town House Committee and selectmen.

  • Opened and distributed mail
  • Read and accepted minutes from previous meeting
  • Discussed a complaint about a house on the Stream Road: Renters moved out and left trash, unregistered cars and junk. Will contact John Archard, the Code Enforcement Officer to evaluate the situation.
  • Discussed the spring time wash out on Stream Road and what could be done to help solve this problem in the future. It was determined that the culverts are the correct size. Discussed the need to clean out the culverts earlier in the year to help prevent future washouts.
  • Discussed the dumpster on the Klir Beck road - confirmed it is where it is supposed to be. It is located half way down the Shores Road.
  • Stuart Rogers came in to discuss his taxes.
  • Ron Greenwood will be able to make a copy of the Town House Key for the Fire Department.
